Tell us a bit about yourself

I grew up in a small town outside of Cape Town called Hermanus. I currently live in the beautiful city of Cape Town, on the slope of Table Mountain in Vredehoek. I am a key account manager at Cue managing the setup and day-to-day runnings of client accounts.

How did you find Cue?

Cue actually found me. I was at a point in my life where I needed a career shift, something new and exciting where I could learn and grow. On the 1st of July 2021, Ryan Egnos (Cue CRO), reached out to me on LinkedIn and it couldn't have been more perfect timing. I went through a series of interviews and tasks before starting my position at Cue towards the end of August 2021. Since starting at Cue, my mind has been opened to the world of mobile and tech and how it can be used to help solve major business problems and build solutions for every industry.

What's it like working for a hybrid company?

At Cue, we are given a lot of freedom and flexibility to manage our own time and work responsibilities. Since starting my role, the ability to work both remotely as well as at the office has been a great experience, allowing us the chance to create and maintain a healthy and productive work-life balance. For me, the combination of working from home as well as from the office has helped me build confidence in my work while providing the ability to build relationships with my colleagues, grow my knowledge and learn from those around me.

Did you have Account Manager experience before joining Cue?

Before Cue, I was an account manager at a digital marketing agency. That exposed me to similar roles and responsibilities, as well as nurturing clients and building long-lasting relationships. What I took from my previous position into my new one at Cue is understanding client objectives, approaching everything with a strategic goal in mind, and building unique solutions to best suit each client.

What has been your favourite project you have worked on at Cue?

I have found great satisfaction and success working with Barko Financial Services on their WhatsApp solution which integrates their customer service as well as loan application facility into a seamless, user-friendly solution.

We've formed an amazing partnership and are continuously working on growing the solution and service offering into various departments of their business.

This project has allowed both parties to be innovative in our approach to problem-solving and business development and has pushed us to develop our platform

We have been working on some new and exciting projects with third parties which will soon launch and will be a large contributor to Barko's continued success in the Financial Services sector

What do you get up to outside of work?

Working remotely and living outside of busy city life, I enjoy a lot of time being active and outdoors in nature, from mountain hikes, to runs along the ocean.

I love travelling and exploring new countries, from experiencing their cultures to trying their foods and seeing many amazing sights. I'd say I work to travel, visiting a few new places each year.

My first and forever love, however, is food. Any extra free time I have, I can be found in the kitchen cooking up a new recipe or a wholesome meal for my friends and family.

Can you tell us about how your friendship with Kate developed?

We first met at the end-of-year Cue party in 2021 before she even started the following year and we immediately clicked.

Kate and I definitely grew close being the first two females at Cue and we shared some mutual acquaintances from high school.

We share very similar interests, work ethics and personality and quickly became inseparable friends both in and outside of work.

How has your role evolved over the last 3 years of being at Cue?

In the last three years, I have found growth and experience in client relationship building, continued learning about the SaaS industry taken on larger projects and grown my existing accounts. As the team has grown, I've had the opportunity to help train and share my knowledge with new members, which has allowed me to grow in confidence and understanding of the forever-evolving industry

What do you enjoy about working at Cue?

What makes me love my job every day is that each day presents a new challenge and learning curve. We work with clients in many different industries requiring uniquely tailored solutions. The balance of autonomy and teamwork is unparalleled in many other work environments and builds a space for both personal and professional growth.

How would you describe the Cue culture?
